The second phase of the Green Drive project kicked off with a seminar designed to educate 50 local farmers, organized in partnership with the Kurunegala Coconut Cultivation Board. Hosted at Maraluwawa Samithi Shalawa, the event featured insights from experts, including the Werawella Coconut Development Officer and Agricultural Product Researchers. Key topics discussed included proper fertilization techniques for coconut plants, suitable fertilizer types, identifying nutrient deficiencies, and pest management strategies. To reinforce the learning, free fertilizer was distributed to the participants. The seminar facilitated valuable interactions between farmers and experts, offering practical advice and fostering hands-on learning. This impactful event represents a major stride toward promoting sustainable coconut farming and ensuring continuous support for the local farming community.
